Grade 9 Outing

DSC06879

On 23 May the Grade 9 class, together with a few teachers, went on their annual outing to Durban.

The first stop was the Durban Holocaust Museum, which gives a detailed account of Hitler controlled Europe and the horrors of the mass killings during the Second World War.
The KZN Science Centre at Gateway, taught the learners more about mechanical systems and control. After a typically delicious McDonalds lunch and a Steers ice-cream, we visited the KZNSA art gallery. This gallery is committed to the promotion of contemporary art through extensive exhibitions and educational programmes. The learners viewed impressive bronze sculptures by a previous winner of the prestigious Gerhard Sekoto Prize of the ABSA Atelier art competition. In addition there was a series of impressive woodcut prints by Jef Rankin.
