Intermediate Phase Outing

8 April started with 35 happy children, four teachers and two drivers setting off to the first of three exciting Durban destinations – the impressive Moses Mabhida Stadium.

We experienced the very heart of the stadium and the other many key areas that make this cultural and architectural landmark a worthy attraction for all to visit. We got to walk out onto the field and experience what it must be like to be a sportsman standing in front of 56 000 cheering fans. This was truly breath-taking and enjoyed by all.
It was a short trip to the Durban City Hall which houses the Natural Science Museum where we learnt about mammals and reptiles, amphibians and rodents, sea birds and birds of prey. The practical examples and life size creatures came to life with the help of our tour guides and made the learning experience fun and exciting for all.
It was lunch time and the warm Durban afternoon required a good lunch by the seaside. We loaded up with supplies from Mac Donald’s and headed to our third and final destination, Mini Town.
The children enjoyed playing amongst the scaled down replicas of Durban’s most iconic landmarks and attractions.
The outing ended with a surprise ice-cream on our journey back. It was a wonderful experience for all.
