BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

The Grade 9 outing on 22 September offered learners an enriching experience beyond the classroom. Starting early, they visited the Durban Sugar Terminal to learn about sugar production and see its massive storage silos. At the Durban Holocaust & Genocide Centre, a guided tour fostered historical understanding and moral reflection, promoting empathy and respect for diversity. After a beachside ice cream, the group explored uShaka Marine World, enjoying animal shows and viewing over 300 marine species in the shipwreck-themed aquarium. The day concluded with supper at Ballito McDonald’s before returning home, tired but enriched by a day of learning and fun.
