In the morning assembly on Wed, 14 October, learners and staff were encouraged to sleep more, sleep better and sleep longer. Mrs Jaegle, our First Aid Officer, explained how during sleep, your body builds muscle, repairs tissues and releases human growth hormone to restore physical energy. Children 6–12 yrs require 9–12 hours of sleep per night and teens require 8–10 hours per night.
To put it all into practice, a power nap was scheduled in the last lesson from 13h40-14h00. The school went silent. Some literally fell asleep while others experienced insomnia.
