MORRIS VS MURRAY

It was Morris vs Murray again at the annual Interhouse Athletics competition on 8,9 August.

A sparkling two days of competition produced 16 new records – 12 female and 4 male records. Three events broke records that have stood for up to 30 years. Naomi du Toit broke the Girls 7 60m record set by S. Majola in 1995, Tanya Gideon broke the Girls 17 High Jump record set by S. Dahl in 1993 and the Morris Girls 17 relay team broke the Studd record set in 1994.

Morris and Murray were neck and neck throughout the two days of competition, but Murray finally won the winning house title. Murray athletes won 119 medals: 48 gold, 36 silver and 35 bronze. Morris athletes won 117 medals: 37 gold, 44 silver and 36 bronze.

Murray athletes won 3 of the 4 Ludorum trophies. Jnr Victrix Iris Meyer (Mu), Snr Victrix Annelle Jaeger (Mo), Jnr Victor Pablo Jaegle (Mu), Snr Victor Kai Vermaak (Mu).
