Prefects Getaway

An ecstatic bunch of prefects piled into the sprinter in anticipation of a great weekend from 26-28 January.

Missing two hours of school was a terrific way to start. Upon arrival at the Newlands’ place in Howick, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Some good games of tennis and cricket followed and the day was closed with a devotion. By the end our fairly strenuous first-week-in-matric, we were all quite grateful for luxurious rooms.
Despite a rather gloomy weather forecast, the next morning dawned bright and sunny. We fuelled up for the day with a scrumptious breakfast and trooped to the WESSA headquarters in the Umgeni Valley. We did the leadership course presented by WESSA staff which required teamwork and planning but also included lots of fun. Back at our lodging, we made a beeline for the showers. Fortunately the weather held – till our braai started, that is.
After the Sunday service, we enjoyed our final superb meal. We were sorry to say our goodbyes. This time has stimulated us to tackle our duties and responsibilities with new inspiration and courage.
