Day 1 as always, comes along with a lot of hype and many firsts! The first day for Grade RRR learners, the first day at big school for Grade 1, the first day for new DSS learners, the first day of the last year for 31 Grade 12 learners, the first day for new DSS parents…a lot of hype.
Many parents, grandparents, friends and old scholars attended the opening assembly where Mr Ngubane welcomed everyone and reminded the learners about the first pillar of the mission statement – respect. He emphasised that respect is an integral part of Domino Servite.
The lucky Grade 1 learners were given an ice-cream cone pack of delicious edibles for starting their school careers at DSS.
The academic year started in earnest when the learners marched out of the hall with their class teachers to their home classes.
