TERM 2 CLOSING ASSEMBLY

Term 2 finally came to an end on 22 June and the closing assembly was the full stop to an extremely busy term.

Matric learners, Kwanda Mazibuko and Oswald McGill ably directed the programme, even speaking Afrikaans at times! Ella Bosman and Alwande Mbeje did the Bible reading in English and Zulu from Luke 18:15-17.

There were no awards this term but there was much music. DSS enjoys singing and making music. Menuet from the music for the Royal Fireworks from GF Handel was one of the Brass Band pieces that was enjoyed.

The junior school learners sang Let the children have a world
Let the children have a world
Where there is no pain or sorrow
Where they all can live tomorrow
And they share a brighter day
Let the children have a world
Where the people can be free
Where they all can join together
And there hearts will share a dream

This song was a reminder that girls and boys deserve to be happy, healthy and safe. After the performance the children handed the audience small yellow cards to remind them of this fact.
