On 4 September, the hall buzzed with excitement as learners gathered for the Maths Quiz Competition. There was plenty of anticipation, along with a few nervous butterflies as the Foundation and Intermediate Phase participants prepared to put their maths skills to the test.
Two quizzes accommodated the different maths levels in the phases and both consisted of five rounds each: a speed test, a flash round, true/false round, drop-out round and the final round. With each round, the field narrowed as learners demonstrated their quick thinking, mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Eventually, only five determined learners remained in each competition, battling it out for the top three places.
