MOMOTHEKA ECD

On 19 May the Grade 11 class visited Momotheka Creche for the first phase of our ECD program. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, and the children were excited to see us again. After a brief introduction, the children joyfully proclaimed that it was isikhathi sokudlala – time to play!

The playground quickly came alive with laughter as the children ran, swung, climbed, and slid. Many delighted faces eagerly introduced themselves while playing games with hula hoops.

The boys and Mr Mabaso worked in the garden, removing weeds, loosening the soil and preparing two beds for seedlings. We demonstrated planting techniques to the children, who enthusiastically joined in, using their small hands to cover the seedlings with soil.

The staff graciously prepared two generous meals, enough to feed double the number of learners present.

This visit was a wonderful opportunity for us to serve and engage with the children. As our time came to an end, we were reluctant to leave our friends. Ultimately, it was unclear who enjoyed the visit more—the kids or the Grade 11s.
