On 7 November the staff and parents along with the Grade 3s gathered to welcome the forthcoming Grade R learners of 2013.
Sweaty little hands clung nervously to equally jittery parents, but the tension soon dissolved with the warm welcomes from Miss Newlands and Mrs Stegen. Mrs Stegen spoke of all the fun and games they will have at school next year. The Grade 3 children sang happy songs to encourage the small ones. Mr du Toit and his team produced a jolly puppet show about obedience to parents bringing blessings to children. The parents introduced their children to the staff and the Grade 3 learners gave each incoming learner their traditional large colourful cones of sweet surprises.
The evening ended with the new young ones playing games in the hall while the on-looking parents and staff sipped tea and indulged in sweet and savoury snacks.

The FP Eisteddfod was held on Tuesday, 28 August. Each learner presented a poem in front of an audience of parents, grandparents and siblings. There was a delightful array of talent on display. Some were rather nervous, others were quite at ease! Each child received a certificate of participation, recognising the effort and creativity of their prersentations.
