13 DSS athletes qualified to represent the SACSSA team at the Prisma Comms Track and Field Championships in Pretoria on 20 October. DSS athletes achieved 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at this event.

8 provinces competed in the National aQuelle Athletics Championships held at Kings Park in Durban on 21&22 September. KZN, Limpopo, Vaal West, Gauteng, G7, Mpumalanga, Western Province, the Eastern Province and Zimbabwe took part.

DSS had 55 participants and 13 were selected to represent Christian schools in Pretoris at the Prisma Comms Track and Field Championships.

KZN was the winning province with 1777 points and a total of 149 medals. 3 records were broken by DSS athletes.

 

The aQuelle KZNCSSA Athletics Championships took place at Kings Park on 31 August and 1 September. DSS athletes took part as respresentatives of the Northern Natal region, wearing yellow t-shirts. 4 Zones participated namely Northern Natal, Northern Coastal, South Durban and North Durban. DSS had 93 competitors and 72 qualified for the next level. Northern Natal was the winning zone with 1870 points. a total of 195 medals. 7 records were broken by DSS athletes.

NKThe Zonal Athletics Meeting took place at Dundee High School on 18 August 2012. 5 schools participated namely Domino Servite, Ichtus, Estcourt Christian Academy, Bergville Christian School and Home School. DSS has 138 competitors and 108 qualified for the next level. Domino was the winning school with 1586 points. 23 records were broken by DSS athletes.

The DSS Interhouse Athletics Meeting took place on Thursday 2 August and Saturday 4 August. It was a titanic battle once again between the two houses, Murray and Morris. Morris started the day with a lead of 8 points due to their win in the Interhouse X-Country event that took place last term. But by the end of the meeting, it was Murray who raised the winning trophy by narrowly beating Morris by only 5 points. In addition, Murray won the Cheering Trophy. Well done, Murray!
