The last award assembly of the year is one in which learners receive bronze merit or half colours for academics, sport and other achievements. They also receive subject merit awards in which Senior Phase learners must achieve 80%+ in examinable subjects , 90%+ in non-examinable subjects or 80%+ as an aggregate. In the FET Phase subject merit awards are awarded to learners who have achieved 80%+ in all subjects or 80%+ as an aggregate.

How we remember Amanda ...
Few souls are truly brave.
Bravery is a characteristic that governed Amanda's life.
She had a stoicism that defied understanding.
She did not shrink from duty.
Or withdraw from life because of her disease.
She faced each day bravely.
On Friday 31 July, 51 learners, with 31 projects participated in the Durban Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. 17 of the projects received bronze medals, 11 silver and 1 gold. The gold medal was won by Melissa Schneider and Lungile Mkhize for their project "Bridge Breaka".
