The academic year at DSS was officially closed at the annual Prize Giving ceremony held on Friday 3 December at 2pm. It was a ceremony with a difference. For 25 years Domino Servite has provided quality education to hundreds of learners. The ceremony focused on the anniversary in a number of ways.
DSS achieved a 100% Matric pass rate for 2010. Louis Geldenhuys and Yvonne Joosten each achieved 7 A's. Louis, Yvonne and Angelica Maphanga achieved subjects in the top 1% of candidates per subject.

At the close of each term, learners are presented with the awards achieved during that term including ½ colours and bronze merit achievements. In the final Award Assembly for 2010 held on 1 December, Subject Merit Awards as well as awards for Olympiads, Speed Stacks and Sport were handed out. DSS learners are encouraged to participate and excel in extramural activities. Congratulations to each learner who gave of their best in whatever they did. Ndumiso Mkhize’s Speed Stacks achievement deserves special mention – he performed the 3-3-3 and Cycle stacks in world class time.
The Hillcrest Christian Academy Grade 6 class made their annual visit to KSB Mission with the purpose of learning about new cultures, community living and a number of other issues. On 9 September they joined DSS for the morning assembly. This time though, they brought along two reptiles. The one snake was introduced to the school during the assembly which very much brought alive the story of the serpent in the Garden of Eden! The learners were allowed to handle the two snakes under the watchful eye of Timothy, the snake handler. Needless to say, it was a first for many!
