Eight eager participants took part in the WESSA Environmental Quiz at Greytown High School on 10 May 2011. Competitors sat in 10 groups of 4 around numbered tables. Rounds of questions were asked starting with short one mark questions fired at each group. Questions ranged in content from planets to bacteria, landscape to buck and many more. Other rounds of questions including listening to bird calls, identifying pictures and contents of brown packets which contained small tree branches. Learners were asked to identify, declare any knowledge or use of the item and indicate whether it was indigenous or not. At half time DSS girls' team were in second position but they ended in fourth position and the boys, eighth.
